There's no need for you to be negative.
Obviously you have benefitted already from what's happened. Think about people who are stuck (just as you were up until recently) and want to 'try' to make things work for them too....
wish people were more understanding of others also. Why is it people forget what it was like for them when they were in same boat?

1. Creating a petition and getting it signed by more than 10000 victims stuck in BEC and sending it to relevant people in congress and USCIS.
2. Doing a rally in NY, Sanjose etc.
3. Working closely with USCIS and IV core and see how we can improve the situation.

Hi
I received my EAD card but the expiry date is 01/08/08....it was approved on 01/11/2008.....
So they goofed up as usual.....I called them and they are asking to file another 765 with
Orig EAD card and copy of approval notice...
Is the approval notice the letter that comes with your EAD card?
Has anyone faced this..any pointers would help..........
They also asked me to book an infopass appt to see if they can issue an interim EAD...or something...This really sucks...

OK - good point. Linus Torvalds was an H1/green card immigration to my knowledge, and he would make a good addition to the list.

I am also planning on changing location from one state to another but the job is still with the same company (just moving to a different branch). My lawyer said it will not affect my GC but I have to get a new LCA for my H1. I still do not understand how this will not affect my GC (I have a approved 140 and waiting to file 485). Is there a way this is possible like if the labor is filed from the corporate office and has nothing do with branch locations?
I just want to make sure it is safe before I move.

Hi all,
I have to go to India on 1st jan , 2009 for 2 weeks , for my brother's marriage on jan 14,2009, but my existing advance parole expires on jan 12 2009.
I have filed for the renewal of advance parole but I want to know as to what other option do I have , if I dont get my renewal advance parole by jan 1st ?
If my AP expires on jan 12th and I come back on jan 16th and tell the customs agents that i have applied for a renewal and just didnt get it before I left, is that acceptable?

I entered the US as a student in Jan '99 and did a couple of trips on my F1 visa and since I got my H1-B approval notice in 2001, I never left until last December '07 and returned with a stamped H1-B visa.
I would be "ok" if they asked for all returns since 2001 as that's when I actually started working and used the H1-B, but why is he asking for returns from 1999, I have no clue...
That's why I mentioned it feels like he wants to deny my applicatoin. Can he deny it if I can't produce the returns for '99 and '00 even though I filed my returns and the IRS can't produce evidence that I did or didn't?
I do have the W-2's from '99 and '00...
Any ideas/help from senior members or someone that had a similar situation?

I may be wrong on Q2 but on Q1 I am 100% certain that unless you file your 485 under the new fee structure ($1010), you will have to pay the new EAD fee each year when you renew your EAD.
New EAD is for 340$. So, what you are saying is, I pay 340$ now to apply and 340$ every year to renew? That'd suck big time.

I had filed my labor certification from company (A) ( Based on future employment ) .

I did not work for the company (A)
My labor certification has got approved and now I am preparing to file I-140.
In the mean while my current employer (B) had approved to file my GC- ( PERM labor ) will get it filed in beginning of 2007.
Should I file my I-140 from company (A) in order to retain PD...I am told that once the I-140 gets approved from (A ) the priority date can get transferred to the company B when ever that I-140 stage reaches.
Is this a recommended course ? would there be flags raised when I file PERM labor & subsequent I-140 for company (B)..I came across items on the I-140 form that asks " has any Immigration visa petition ever being filed behalf of this person"..Not sure what are the implications if one confirms the same.
I am not able to get a clearer picture.
You help will be highly appreciated

1. Labor Approved.

I missed the last rally and I regret it. There was a moment in time when we were all really energized. The flower campaign was brilliant. But now we seem to have lost that fire - me included! I dont even remember my dates anymore. I know we have a serious problem of getting people together for anything. But starting small in our own cities and connecting to a national IV would probably work. I am here in Sterling Heights, MI (Detroit Metro Area) and I am willing to host people in my area It will be great if others in other cities can do that too. I am dre. ming, but think about it if this works. We can march to washigton again such large numbers that everyone will notice. I really think its time to get together and do something. Bouncing ideas on IV boards is great but lets meet and get to know each other and see if can talk about this problem face to face across the country. Thats what grassroot effort it!. If nothing, we will find new friends in each other. I hope to find that fire in us again and I thank you for reading my post!
