We are in the same situation... This will be a good thread to track receipts for cases specifcally like ours. That way, we will know at least when the first batch of cases will be transferred to TSC.

Guys, Please don't fight.
We cannot get far with this EB2 Vs EB3 fight.
We understand EB3's situation, however pitting one against another will not help.
Sanhari: why not take your efforts one step ahead and work for fixes like visa recapture. That would be permanent solution and doesnot favor any particular group. You will be able to get support of EB2 and EB1 folks.
I know IV core is focusing its efforts on CIR. CIR is dead meat or going to be... considering this, is IV core working on any piecemeal reforms? Can somebody from the IV core comment????

I think it is ironic that we (from India) complain about quota on GC when we are the masters of quotas whether it be in education, workplace, politics etc. I myself was not affected by quotas in India, but I know several friends who were, simply because they were born in "upper caste" and therefore had to be denied opportunities as "revenge" for the injustice meted out by their ancestors several centuries ago, instead of being based on economics.
I personally think GC quota has a rationale behind it. It allows for a reasonable share to go to smaller countries so that the US population maintains its diversity. Besides, near the end of the year, if the numbers are unused, they are rolled over to larger countries like India and China, thereby automatically eliminating the quota.

Your points are correct. The real question is how many more can the country take without going unsympathetic to immigration. That's their country and their decision you know.

Fortunately we are in the best position possible, if we learn how to take advantage of this situation (assuming that we ever get the GC!).

Liberal leaning countries have amongst the lowest fertility rates, well below replacement levels.
The above makes it an imperative to import labour and yes sheer people to take care of the old and infirm, to keep the service sector rolling even if manufacturing etc is outsourced. The only question is what kind of immigration and how much of it. In short the answer is the USA is not a dumb country, it generally always acts in its self interest faced with these choices. I believe EB immigration will soon be liberalised. This would be a smart thing especially if coupled with a crackdown on illegal immigration.

I wish there was a measure of working age population only, the growth of that population is probably much less than that of the general population.

With out IV, The only two things folks on the hill knew were illegal immigration and H1B visa. Now more than 75% offices know the EB issue inside out and have a position on it. This is an effort that needs to be continued until we get a solution.
This in itself is a stupendous achievement and IV has made it possible. 2 or 3 years back you had NO VOICE. Now you have IV. Thats enough reason contribute and feel involved in the community effort.

Country Cap for employment based GCs is discrimination by National Origin. It must be removed. This kind of practice would be illegal if practiced by any corporate entity. So it might be illegal even for USCIS to have a country cap for employment based visas. We might want to think about having some lawyers check into this and maybe sue USCIS so that they remove this discriminatory rule. This one small change in rule could make a huge difference to Indian community, more than any other legislative changes. Skilled workers from different countries come to USA because they all want to work in USA, not because they come from a certain country. USA should have only one queue for this reason. Having separate queues for each country is downright racist and discrimination by national origin.
Funny how some people call this country cap 'discrimination.' If this is discrimination, then everybody is being discriminated, as the country cap applies to all countries, not just India and China. Since everybody is 'discriminated,' then it is not discrimination anymore.:)

For god's sake, if you intend to send hundreds of emails and letters and call yourselves highly skilled immigrants, can you take the time to have your letter proof read by someone? If not anyone, at least by Microsoft Word?? I start reading the text of some of the emails and shake my head at some of the gobbledegook you are spewing. It is counter productive to say the least.

Everyone getting receipt notices, and not coming to the rally, (not coming to the rally -most on tracker threads), please at least consider contributing to the rally once you get your notice or FP done or get EAD!. The rally cost is huge and we can do much more if people can contribute generously.
We helped you get to the stage so that everyone can file I485s. It pains us in the core team see how our members who used to tell us all the time to at least allow them to file I485 and then they will wholeheartedly take part and support IV have turned their backs on us now. With our work and victory in Visa bulletin fiasco, we even answered people who used to ask us for our achievements before they could contribute.
Now it is your opportunity to deliver.

Hi SKK, it is not really required to have finger printed to get teh EAD approval. (i am talking aboutthe first time EAD). Your FP may come later on. At least in my case it was like that. I got my EAD approval first and later on only the FP came. Hope this helps ...
